Hey guys! This blog was written by our ambassador Jordan! She is so beautiful inside and out! Enjoy!
So the other day I got a burn on my hand from my straightener, and let me tell you it hurt!!!
But I was thinking about it, and realized that a burn will leave a scar. Every time I look at one of my scars, from burns to cuts, I feel that pain. If I can feel that, how much more hurtful can my words and actions be? You see, when we cut someone down with our speech, or burn our friendships through our deeds, we scar them for life. I had something like this happen to me about a year ago, and every time I think about it, hear the persons name, or even get in a situation similar to it, I hurt. A lot of you have had this happen and understand what I’m talking about, but for those of you lucky enough not to experience this, it feels like the situation just happened yesterday and you could curl up in a ball and cry from the pain. Now we can let this be a deciding factor in our lives, not put ourselves in vulnerable situations, think unkind things, etc. But the Bible tells us that “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.” Prov. 10:12
Now this is not always easy, in fact, it can be really hard depending on the level of hurt. But the time spent with God talking about feelings can be beneficial. It’s also helpful to have some close friends that you can talk to anytime. I’d love for you to comment some things I can be praying for you about! Thanks for reading!
Love ya!
